“Strengthening multi-disciplinary approaches in case management for children in conflict and contact with the law”

    “Strengthening multi-disciplinary approaches in case management for children in conflict and contact with the law”. Undertaken as part of the Program “Transforming the National Response to Trafficking in Human Beings in and out of Albania” – an important initiative implemented by a number of international and local organizations, led by UNICEF Albania, with the support of the Government of the United Kingdom.

    The project “Strengthening multi-disciplinary approaches in case management for children in conflict and contact with the law” is implemented in partnership between the UNICEF Albania and the consortium of organizations: Foundation “Conflict Resolution and Dispute Reconciliation” & Community Development Center “Today for the Future” in the municipalities of Shkodra and Puka.

    Through the implementation of this project, the partner organizations aim to support institutions and professionals at the local level that have a role in the administration of Juvenile Justice, in the implementation of the Juvenile Justice Code, the National Juvenile Justice Strategy, and raising awareness to respect the children’s rights, applying avoidance and alternative measures to criminal proceedings.

    This project assists the responsible institutions in the municipalities of Shkodra and Puka for the treatment of juvenile cases in contact with the justice system through a multi-disciplinary and inter-institutional approach. The project interventions will be implemented during the period October 2021 – March 2022 and aim the protection, prevention, reintegration and community-based rehabilitation of children suspected, accused, convicted, witnesses or at risk of being involved in criminal offenses , as well as at risk of trafficking.
